DR. DIANA BOSSIO

Dr. Diana Bossio is the Program Director for the postgraduate program in Media and Communication and lectures in multiple units in media and journalism. Her research focuses on social media, journalism and practices for digital participation and inclusion. She has published over 20 research articles in prestigious journals such as Journalism Practice, Digital Journalism, Continuum and Media International Australia.


Some of her works include The Paradox of Connection: How Digital Media Are Transforming Journalistic Labor (Illinois University Press, 2022), Journalism and Social Media: Practitioners, Organisations, Institutions (Palgrave Macmillan, 2017) and she is the co-editor of Social Media and the Politics of Reportage: The Arab Spring (Palgrave Macmillan, 2014). She has received a national OLT citation for her experiential teaching approach and work-integrated learning. She was also awarded the 2018 Swinburne Innovation Fellowship for contribution to innovative teaching and research.
